New: Ubuntu Brainstorm

I’m a few days late on this, but I figure anyone not reading the various planets might not know.

The Ubuntu site now has a new site, Ubuntu Brainstorm. The idea is simple, and pulled off well. Anyone can grab an account, then put up an idea. When people like it, they vote it up. If not, it can be voted down.

The best part about this site is that not only does it rank new ideas, it shows how annoying various bugs are. For instance, the top of the list last time I looked was an idea to focus the Name area in save dialogs. For some reason it is unfocused by default. I voted it up, as this is a huge annoyance to me.

Go, check out the ideas, and throw in a few of your own. Be careful to look for the same idea first though.

The comments often provide workarounds for problems too, so for an in-between fix, check them out.

I submitted an idea to make the ‘gnome-vfs-obexftp’ or equivalent default installed. You can find it here. My recent reading show that Hardy should have this fixed by a compeltely new system, however, so it isn’t too big of a deal.
