No, it doesn’t stand for Ubuntu Millennium Edition. That will never be used again due to the years of torture WindowsME users (including myself for ~5+ years) were subject to. It’s actually Ubuntu Muslim Edition, a special version of Ubuntu for Muslims.
The naming was just too nostalgic to pass up…
